Counting journals role in D365: "@ITW-Stock Count"
NDC tasks to be aligned with Warehouse Manager:
- When to withhold batch jobs (and which ones)
- When to remove work-reservations on items (cancel all work on site 300, with issue=Reserved physical, and delete the associated loads)
- When to resume batch jobs (NOTE!!!: Before changing the status to "Waiting", then change the "Scheduled start date/time" for each batch job that is in "Withhold", so that it resumes/starts at the exact same time as in the past, and not when changing the status from Withhold to Waiting)
See also this below D365 setting which caused issues for the stock count in 2023.
@Cecilia Bokedal @bodil.gudmann I believe that the issue is solved.
The parameter "Counting status registration policy" on the inventory counting journal setup is changed to "Disable counting status registration". This was changed just after the counting in November 2023.
When this parameter is set to disable status counting registration, it is possible to add the same item number into different counting journals at the same time.
The parameter is set on the counting journal setup:
Inventory management > setup > journal names > inventory
The description of the field:
Though this parameter is set to disable counting registration status, it is still possible manually to mark an item as "Counting started" and then the problem is introduced for that item.
The manual setting of counting started can be set from Released product > Warehouse items,
I dont know if there have been any testing after the parameter change back i november 2023.
